Mental illness and addiction are common issues for families: each year about 25% of Americans have such issues. Yet when they occur, families feel desperate and alone. With treatment and support, mental illness can be the gateway to a closer family connection and an opportunity for profound spiritual growth. This talk will describe mental illnesses and their causes, resources available for treatment and support and the avenues for spiritual growth that these experiences may provide.
